Loneliness does not choose ages and, despite being silent, it has a significant social and individual impact. According to data released by the European Commission, Portugal is the sixth country in Europe where loneliness has increased the most.

As it marks for the purpose of connections, NOS warns of the importance and incidence of this epidemic and invites all Portuguese people to offer attention, not only at Christmas time, but throughout the year.

The operator’s Christmas campaign, entitled “O Carrossel” and created by the agency O Escritório, shows the journey of a man’s life, from childhood to adulthood. In each turn of the carousel you can see the passage of time, on a journey with ups and downs, many smiles, but also with challenging, difficult and intense moments. At a certain point, he finds himself alone at home, surrendering to sadness and apathy. The feeling of loneliness that fills him is evident until he receives a message from his parents that says “We are here”. The image is once again filled with color and light and the carousel takes its last turn, revealing a family Christmas.

Calling someone or sending a message may seem like simple gestures, but they can mean a lot to the person on the other side of the screen. As such, NOS will offer all its customers 10 thousand minutes, 10 thousand SMS and 10GB of mobile data, between the 1st and the 26th of December for new and existing customers. In addition, NOS provides a toll-free line to facilitate access to the Associação SOS Voz Amiga, an anonymous emotional support line, which is intended to help all those who feel lonely and suffering.
